Title: B lifetime measurements with the DØ experiment at the TeVatron: B+/B0, Bs and Lambda_B
Speaker: Dr Guennadi Borissov (Lancaster)
Abstract
A new tracking system of Dzero detector, which includes a precision vertex detector, allows us to study different B-hadrons, which are produced in abundance at the hadron collider. In this seminar, after a short description of the performance of Dzero experiment and the main directions of its B-physics program, I'll present our latest results in the measurement of lifetime of B+, B0, Bs and Lambda_b. Obtained results significantly improve the world average values and produce a direct impact on the development of theoretical models describing dynamics of heavy quarks.
Particle Physics Seminars take place in room 103, Physics West, on Wednesdays at 1315. Tea, coffee and biscuits are served at 1300.
