Abstract
The LHC discovered a scalar particle with mass of approximately 125 GeV,
and properties compatible with those of the Higgs particle in the minimal
version of the Standard Model.
Is it possible that such particle be composite, and emerges from
an alternative, strongly-coupled model of electroweak symmetry breaking?
Methods developed in the context of string theory (holography) can help
answering this question, and I show some explicit examples.
