Abstract
This talk will review the motivation behind some of the key physics goals of the LHCb experiment and
will present the first results.
The main focus will be the decays Bs,d->mumu, which can be used to probe any extended Higgs sector; the
decay Bs->J/Psi phi, which probes new phases in Bs-mixing; and the decay Bd->K*mumu, which is sensitive
to new couplings. The prospects for 2011 data-taking will also be reviewed, along with other first
measurements that LHCb has made.
