Title: OGSA - Beyond Interoperability on the Grid
Speaker: Dr Abdeslem Djaoui (Rutherford Laboratory)
Abstract
The Open Grid Services Architecture (OGSA) framework has evolved over the last few years from a minimalist interoperability infrastructure to become the flagship architecture of the Global Grid Forum (GGF). The impact on currently deployed Grids is starting to be visible with OGSA compliance offering the best way for interoperability and scalability. A major milestone was the adoption of service oriented principles and web services as the underlying technology. In this talk I will review the rational behind OGSA, the progress made so far and how, in this "built-it-and-they-will-come" philosophy, OGSA services will be used in a multitude of ways to develop novel and interesting applications in the future.
This Particle Physics Seminar will take place in Seminar Room 2 (room 106), Physics West, at 1315. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be served at 1300.
