Rare Decays at LHCb

Jeremy Dickens (Cambridge)

Abstract

The LHC will be the world's most abundant source of B-hadrons to date and the LHCb experiment will make precision CP and rare-decay measurements over the coming years. I will present the current status of the detector and give an overview of the rare-decay physics analyses at LHCb, focusing on the decay Bd → K*μμ, which is sensitive to new physics beyond the SM.
