Abstract
LHC Run I already started to push the limits of our theoretical descriptions,
especially in multi-jet processes. We must therefore learn from these results to develop
new tools for Run II. In this talk, I will discuss the challenges posed by the large
higher-order perturbative corrections which arise from the increased centre-of-mass
energy. I will describe the High Energy Jets framework which provides an alternative
description encoding the dominant pieces of the hard-scattering matrix elements at all
orders in the strong coupling. I will illustrate the effectiveness of this method with
comparisons to LHC Run I data, and discuss what it teaches us about QCD at the LHC. In
the last part of the talk, I will discuss the implications of these results in the light
of Higgs+dijets studies with an emphasis on vector boson fusion (VBF) channels. I will
end by showing some results from ongoing work to improve our Higgs+dijets predictions.
